Sorry for taking so long to post this, but have had a busy year!
Back in May last year the Jowett Car Club fraternity gathered at the crief Hydro Hotel in Crieff, Scotland, for their annual rally. There are not many Jowett pictures on the forum so here goes to correct this a bit!

Hey Paul!

Thanks for posting the Jowett Show photo's. I've never had one, but have always loved them!

Quite a few Javelins around Perth and even a few Jupitors. I know of a tourer from the early thirties. It's a flat twin. There is also an immaculate beige coloured Bradford panel van stuttering around the local shows.

You guys are going to force me over to the UK one northern summer, just to visit these fantastic car shows!!!!

Really good photos. I always admire them at the shows. Does the gold coloured one not come from the Wishaw area.......Nice cars and way ahead of their time.

Thanks for the comments guys! Sorry it took so long to post the pictures!
Keith: most Jowetts are flat twins (Probably because Yorkshiremen do not like the thought of buying 4 sparking plugs! Razz )
There are active Jowett Owners Clubs in both Australia and New Zealand.
The first jowett produced for commercial sale was made in 1910, so we are gearing up to mark the centenary in 2010. We expect an Australian contingent joining us for the occasion. Our Spring bank Holiday week end at the end of May.
Why not join them??

Did not realise that Jowett made tractors. Any information on these?
Excellent photographs.

As far as can be determined they made 1 tractor! It has been suggested that this was an apprentice project, a means of advertising the engine as a commercially available power plant or even a potential product line that was stillborn. It is well executed and in typical Jowett fashon, quirky. It has no differential, you brake one wheel, crawler fashon to steer it.
William Jowett bought a controlling interest in the Bristol tractor after he left Jowett Cars, and Jowett supplied the engines for these in both 2 and 4 cylinder guise for several years. The tyred tractor seems to borrow nothing from the Bristol.

That certainly looks like a very well attended gathering. Has there ever been a larger turn-out of Jowetts?

I assume the blue one is Mr Purves' unfortunate van re-born.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi again:
First to 71 Marina: Sorry overlooked your post. You may be right about one of them. EU 9627 comes from South Wales though.
Then to Peter: You are right the blue Bradford is Bill Purves and yes, I still need to post those pics!
this gathering was not huge in numbers terms. We always get better attendences when we are closer to the geographic centre of the Jowett world - Yorkshire! We had about 150 vehicles in 2006 in Bingley. these included the oldest Jowett known to survive (still owned by the Jowett family) and one with acetylene lamps!!
