Hi, this is my first post and I'm trying to identify a taxi driven by my maternal grandfather. He was one of the first taxi drivers in London, working from 1906 to 1947. This photo must have been taken not long after he started.

Welcome to the forum. This is a very nice picture of a Sorex, built in France. The date will be about right too, still on solid tyres then, taxi drivers were strong men to drive such machines.

What is that on threar tyre?Chains?
Must have been a bumpy ride on a dry road

If you can find a copy of 'The London Taxi' in the Shire album series you will see a picture of a similar, or possibly the same, taxi parked in Knightsbridge.
