Hi
What is the black car in this film, I saw it about 10 years ago, and have been trying to remember the film, since, to find out what the car was, now have just seen a advert on channel five, so with a little research on the internet, found out the film was Cobra!
Cheers

Movie cars tend to be worth a fortune, so I would imagine doubles were used for any crashes or distance shots. The one they use for close-ups is normally looked after. _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!

this movie being the exception to the rule; i read an article i can't recall where that said all the cars built for the film were used up in the filming, and were never "show quality" to start with. the builder was given a very short lead time and from his story was never properly paid for the work. the unbeleivable stunts pulled off by the car (flying through the air, etc and driving away after landing) were just not realistic for a 1950 Merc regardless of state of tune!
i also question the mish-mash of automotive genre in the Merc; Nascar-influenced interior, massive bonnet scoop, and '50's custom treatment? not very good transportation for an undercover police setective! |
