I own a white 1969 Austin 1100 mk2 and have nearly completed all the welding (i keep saying that - then i find more rot Laughing)

The car could do with a respray and as I'm not to keen on it's current colour (the last 3 classics I've owned have been white) could anyone tell me the colours mk2's were available in? I had a look on the net and only came up with colours for mk1 and mk3.

I'm very keen on Damask red so proof that my car could legitimately carry that colour would be welcome.

Thanks...

if i can remember rightly----most of those colours did`nt arrive until early 1972-----the metallics even later in1975.i remember doing pdi covers for a 1300GT and an mgb GT in 72 both in blaze---a fantastic colour red !!
If your car is going to stay legit---a trip to a paint supplier to browse through earlier paint chips would be my move...

cheers---Ray the Rocker.....

Family used to own a Morris garage and I can't remember a damask red 1100 (it was a Marina colour - I had one) They did have Paladin Red and Tartan red (IF I remember correctly) in the 1100 range. My 1100 was dove grey (fawn in modern language!) also had a tartan red Riley 1300 (Kestrel) from 1972

Not sure if I still have any - loads of my photos were lost during a house move a few years ago. Will search what I have left when I get a moment.

my grandparents had a mk1 morris 1100 in a metallic light blue, i remeber it so metallics were available even in ths 60s!! It then was resprayed in tobacco brown Confused not my type of colour, than it twas sold on in 1998 and I regretted not keeping it ever since because it was still rust free and the suspension still brilliant + add the nostalgic factor Crying or Very sad !!!
At the time Malta was still littered with them though mark 1s werent that common, now many have been scrapped!!

My dad had a 1972 1300, I can remember the colour being "Teal Blue" which was on many Leyland cars of the era.

yeh teal blue was a nice colour. i used to know a guy with a very smart 2-door Allegro in this colour. it was one of the first off the production line (3rd Jan 73) Hope it's still out there, not seen it for quite a few years now.
