my mini's paintwork is looking quite bad now, its dull, has orange peel, and the primer is cracking through. i am wanting to respray it (myself) and was just wondering about the procedure. after reading many help guides this seems to be the norm;
layer(s) of primer = wat&dry to give smooth surface
layer(s) of colour paint
layers of clear laquer, cured then sanded with fine 1200 wet&dry to give a dull finish
rubbing compond to buff up paintwork
car is waxed with some good wax
does this sound about right
thanks |

the first thing is (if you are doing it yourself and outside) go and buy a gazebo the other half was going to try and respray one of his SD1s in the front garden as we could not get it round the back of the house and i did not fancy red paint spray all over the house and other cars so got him one to put over it but now the cars are gone going to hire it out for the summer |
