The broken wheel (s) Looks like a piece of rock under the front axle.
Maybe it had been lifted onto some rocks, to change a wheel and it then slid off and broke another. |

I have been asked to identify this car. Must be a distinctive radiator surround but I cannot find it in any of my books.
I would guess middle/late 20s ?
Any idea anyone ?

It is indeed a Rover from around 1929
It looks to be the Weymann bodied Rover VI Riviera Saloon
2023cc straight six

Many thanks indeed chaps, fantastically fast response and great photographs.
The picture has just come to light and was taken in a small village near Southampton, presumably in the early 1930s.
Thanks again for the help and effort involved. _________________ Richard |

Ok all, Claudia who lives in Argentina sent in this photo - it shows her grandfather, behind the wheel of a ??????
"I need to identify this car, it's an old car, I presume from the 20s or early 30s. I hope you can help me find out what kind and model of car was it. It is very important to me. The man driving this car was my grandfather, who died when my mother was very young and I'm trying to find out facts about his story." _________________ Rick - Admin

I believe that it is a Renault and the registration is Gloucestershire. The registration records for that time seem to have survived and I suggest that Toby Webb contacts:
The County Record Office, Clarence Row, Alvin Street, Gloucester GL1 3DW
Telephone 01452 425295. E-mail: archives@gloucestershire.gov.uk _________________ Keep Torqueing,

| Funnily enough my thoughts turned to Renault, but decided to keep schtum, I worked at a Renault franchise many years ago and spent a few days at there London HQ which housed a few vintage Renaults and that must have caused a stirring of the grey matter when I saw the pic. |
