You can follow a few hundred detailed shots of the entire 2 years on my website (click on signature line), but I thought I'd share a few highlights of the progress here. After I had it together I found that the flywheel or pressure plate was not properly balanced by the machine shop, so I've ordered "new" ones from a racing shop in the US and will be installing them as soon as they get here (couple of weeks). Then I can do some driving.
I'll post some of the wiring and polishing in other sections. The suspension, trans and engine are stories in and of themselves.

This was the car as I bought it 2 years ago

After stripping it down mechanically, I took it to the body shop (my back no longer lets me do that kind of stuff)

There we started by replacing the floor panels

Cut out and replaced varioys pieces of of rusted body with hand made panels out of other cars.

And after a lot of "taca-taca" (no bondo), started the painting.

Wow Richard - my hat is off to you with that restoration, not many people would have taken on such a major job!

I'm seriously impressed! Cool

Scotty.

Fine job you`ve done there! The Corvaire was "ahead of it`s time", and was under-appreciated .

I guess I haven't updated this in a while. I've now got 2600 km on it, driving it 100 km to work and back through the mountains when I'm in town. Drives real nicely. Very solid. Amazingly climbs the mountains in 3rd (3sp)

Last think I did was finish up the interior with the cover mechanisms for the shoulder belts I added.

Did a little polishing the other day. It now has about 9000 km on it. When I'm in town I drive it about 100 km per day. Just not here often enough.
