Anyone have advce on how to paint a 50's Bakelite / plastic steering wheel?

I'm thinking of doing a two tone blue paint job to match my interior as it's currently a boring grey / marble colour.

Cheers
David

David,

I have a friend in Australia who has done this using 2 pack paint. He strips back to the bare metal and then builds up the coats to the required thickness.

Art,

Wow, that sounds like a serious job.

The original plastic material is in excellent condition so I don't need to re-mould.

I was just thinking of prepping, priming, colour coat and a few coats of clear in the appropraite type of paint.

Thanks
David

I'd use some sort of 2K paint and make sure it really is sweat proof. Smile
