The owner of this car dropped me a line, so I said I'll give it a mention on here:

==============================

Police crime reference:

Derbyshire Constabulary HQ
Butterley Hall
Ripley
Derbyshire
DE3RS
ENGLAND

Crime No.
31784/09

Officer in
case: Constable 2183 Robotham

Offence:
Burglary Non-dwelling

Offence
date: 28/05/09 – 01/06/09

Place: Church Street/Mill Lane (324) Eckington, Sheffield

The vehicle was stolen between Thursday 28 May and Monday 1 June.

Here are the details of my stolen 1968 Jaguar 420G:

Registration number SUK 500F

Colour black with silver-grey lower body sides

Chassis 9TD54.723BW

Engine 7D57123-8

Seats - red leather

Jaguar mascot missing - earlier theft

Boot lock smashed in - ditto

Body wax oiled

Some rot around door bottoms

Original Dunlop tyres 205-14

Swan neck reading lamp on dashboard

Home made switch/cable arrangement to starter relay in engine bay for setting TDC.

Front wing water channels drain into screenwasher bottle.

I have detailed photos of side panels, under-chassis and interior

Some possible evidence:

Two very suspicious vehicles were caught on a neighbour's CCTV on the 28 May 2009 - a
low-loader and a transit van. These vehicles went past the CCTV as far as my
garage then turned around and went past the CCTV camera again. Only the
passing of the camera was recorded, not the turning around. There was no
recording of the stolen Jaguar - perhaps they went off in the other direction.

From the times it would appear they had arranged to meet at my garage (?) and
had just missed each other. They had attempted to take away a Mk3 Sunbeam
Rapier at the same time as the Jag, but left it behind for some reason. Did these two vehicles return
to collect the Rapier?
