|
|
I'm hoping someone who logs on here may have seen or heard of 'Rosie' the 1935 Rover (VV 3548) that belonged to my late father, and that we had many hours of happy motoring in as children.
She passed into the care of my brother-in-law for eventual restoration annd was kept in a lock-up garage in Kettering, Northants from where she has DISAPPEARED!
We can't say exactly when she was taken against her will, as, due to family circumstances, she hasn't been visited for a little while. But it was sometime since May.
Has anyone been offered any part of her? Or indeed the whole vehicle! It breaks my heart to think that anyone could just steal her away. |

Please tell me you didn't leave the documents in the glove box.... _________________ Don't run your fingers over my truck & I won't run my truck over your fingers!

I'm sorry to hear that
Keep an eye out on ebay, it will have probably been taken for parts, and pre-war Rover parts aren't exactly common....
A very sad story. I'll keep an eye out in case it turns up down here. _________________ Richard Hughes |

Have you any pics of her? Just incase she is being advertised as a whole, or even being driven/showed!
Cheers

Have you tried DVLA to see if its been logged on with them or to see if the number has been sold on etc, even if it wasnt SORN if it had been off the road for a long while it would have to be registered to sell the number plate - its somewhere to start |

According to the DVLA site the vehicle doesn't exist so I guess she has been off the road since before 1983 so even if recovered the number can only apertain to the original car and can never be sold on for financial gain. Seems very likely she has been stolen to break for parts. Very sad. |

I posted this on the RSR forum a while ago. If you don't mind I will post the picture as well. _________________ ROVER

I'll put it on the A30/35 club forum and MMOC forum. A stolen A35 was recently found through the owners' club being alerted. I'll keep you posted. _________________ Richard Hughes |

Could be a later 10 with the Pressed Steel Hillman Minx body work as later ones reverted to rear hinged doors, Minx's kept the safer front hinged type throughout.
Otherwise it is 12 _________________ Rover P2

I have heard a little rumour that this car has been recovered after it turned up on Ebay. The owner went round posing as a prospective buyer, confirmed it was his car and alerted the police, who went and seized the vehicle. Last I heard the owner was sorting out new, secure storage for the Rover, and the man who tried to sell it on Ebay was helping the police with their enquiries, the police were satisfied that he was an innocent party and he gave them some names of the people he bought it from. I'm not sure if any arrests have been made however.
Anyway, Rosie the Rover has been found! |
