Hi,
A while back I posted about some classic car art I had produced - Jag Mk2s, E-Types, Fiat 500s and BMW 2002s. I got some good feedback from the forum members and some tips on improving the pics.

I've just finished a new project, and thought I'd put it out there to see what you all think. I've already been told that I might need to alter the wheel rims to be correct for a Mark I Cooper?
I've also done a version depicting Paddy Hopkirk's 1964 Rallye Monte Carlo winning Cooper:
Any and all feedback welcome!
All prints available on my website www.hepcatclassics.com
Cheers,

Very nice artwork.
As you pointed out the wheels of a cooper S are a bit different to standard ones, they have small circular holes in the rim, but they aren't that noticeable at a distance.
However the grilles you did on these morris cooper Ss are infact austin ones, the morris should have the wide slats, 7 in all!
The interior in black, belongs to mark 2s, mark 1s always had two tone interiors, the colour depending on the exterior paintwork, eg. tartan red with black roof would have had a red interior with gold brocade inserts in the middle of the seats, surf blue with oew roof would have had a powder blue interior with the middle of the seat in gold or silver brocade and so on!!
The indicators on 33 EJB should also move a bit further to the sides in the front panel and in their place two spotlights fitted, the moustache was also missing on it and of course the interior was never the standard one!
Hope I've helped you a bit and keep up the good work. |

Very nice prints hepcat. Bob2 has added some good information. On the front of Peter Browning's book "The works minis", there is a pic of 33EJB in total "scruff order", blatting round the streets of Monte Carlo. Obviously no time for a wash before the street section. The outer foglamps are directly under the headlamps, and the indicators have white lenses. Paddy Hopkirk, took it to 3rd in the 1963 Tour de France, and 1st in the 1964 Monte.
As a young apprentice on BMC products, the 60's were exiting times, with "our" cars being dominant for a good while. I was fortunate to get the chance, to drive LRX827E, on display, fresh from winning the '67 Alpine rally, Paddy again at the wheel. Probably wouldn't keep up with a Focus now, but I remember that incredible urge from the "works" engine, and very taught suspension as if it were yesterday. |

I had no idea Minis had evolved so much. I definitely need to re-work the interior and the steel rims.
I'm so jealous of you, exbmc, having experienced those glory days! The stuff dreams are made of! _________________ www.hepcatclassics.com - for classic car artworks |
