These covered wagons were the same size inside as the modern transit van.They would be packed with provisions enough for 6 months to be prepared for the journey across America..

At least they did not have to worry about the price of fuel.But it was useful to be able to repair a wheel or even make one!

Thanks Pat. They were often seen as four or more horsepower models too!

Thanks for replying I realised that four horses could be used.But what was the sequence in Australia for horse drawn vehicles and the first cars? Were covered wagons used in the first place to cover the huge expanses of land? What were the first cars to be driven there ? Were they imported in the first instance?
