My neighbour does a lot of local deliveries and keeps his eyes open for classic cars that appear unwanted, to the extent that he has leaflets printed saying that he will remove the cars if required.
He called me on monday to say he had been called as a result of one of his leaflets and it was a Volvo Amazon, but that if it could be removed by today it was on offer at a good price.
The car was a locally registered 1965 122, four door Amazon that had stood under a cover since 1998!
A friend with a transporter agreed to pick it up and it arrived home today.
The cover has done a great job protecting the upper body work, the bottom of only one door has gone. The interior is in superb condition and only need a good clean.
The real problem is with the front, where the owner's modern Volvo burnt out when parked a foot away and the front panel and bonnet got a bit singed.
My dilemma is what to do with it - I don't really want another project

Nice to see such a local (Southend) car there Brian!
Out of interest, where was it found? I've never seen it before!
You may not want another project, but that looks like it wouldn't need much to get it back on the road. It would be nice if it could stay local.

Nice one Brian, that looks like the ideal "on the back burner" project - it even looks as though all the parts are there as well!
