A few years ago one of me kids found an interesting thing in our garden whilst digging an army bunker. (He loves army) But nothing could prepare him for what he found!! I will upload a photo if I can with this post. His face was a picture. He came down the path clutching something that didn't look much more than a lump of mud. But when he lifted it up and showed me, I was shocked. We cleaned it off and he put it on his shelf. We forgot about it for a few years until, my other sons History teacher was talking about WW2. We showed her a picture of our little treasure. She she we'd best ring the RE Museaum and get it checked. A very nice man came to see us who deals with BOMBS He checked it over, It turned out tobe an anti-aircraft shell.....so he removed it, as it was unsafe. Well, we all stood there amazed, and frankly thanking our lucky stars, things could have been alot different. Just thought I'd share..! I've tried with the photo but can't seem to grasp it yet. It's on photobucket.. emm.

Here you go Eyes600
There are still a lot of WWII bombs around and they are extremely dangerous and unstable as I once found out _________________ ROVER

there was a story a few years ago about the squad defusing one that a pensioner had been using as a doorstop
her husband also confessed to using it as a hammer in the past when he couldnt get a picture frame hook to go into their wall |
