Hi All,
I've just joined the group in the hope that you guys can help with an important project.
Take a look at www.BluebirdProject.com
We have Donald Campbell's iconic jet-hydroplane, Bluebird in our workshop. The one he lost his life in on January 4th 1967.
We recovered her from the lake in March 2001 and brought Donald home at the request of his daughter, Gina in May of the same year.
Now we're rebuilding Bluebird to run again on Coniston Water and be housed permanently in the village of Coniston.
So what am I doing here and what can I possibly want?
Simple - we need a Morris steering box, manufactured by Burman and possibly fitted to a J4 van. Very few pics of the original exist and those that do show it being carried up the beach having been recovered by divers in 1967 in a severely damaged condition. I have these grainy images and will be glad to mail them to anyone who may be able offer even the tiniest crumb of info. My e-mail address is KVPLtd@aol.com or Bill@BluebirdProject.com so if you think you can help please give me a shout and I'll also keep the group up to speed with any developments.
Yours with crossed fingers...
Bill Smith.

| Can't help you unfortunately but as another Bluebird fan i'm very interested in the project - best of luck to you and your team, and having K7 fully restored and on the water will be the best tribute to Donald Campbell possible, in my opinion |

Interested in this post as I was one of 4 timekeepers at Lake Dumbleyung in 1964.
Went to reunion some 5 years ago of team members and locals.
You may be able to pick up a box like that in Australia -will put out some feelers
