Established in 1923 Cheda's Garage on Highway 1 in Marin County claims to be the oldest.

Garages like that are just great to visit. You can find lots of olde worlde items hidden away in them

There's just something cool about old garages and gas stations. The aroma's really fire up the senses! Wish more were still around.

I think Northbrook Garage just north of Chicago is older but they may have closed last year. 1844-2008?

What car do you suppose he`s working on ? my first thoughts were a PA cresta,but i`m not familiar with the ratchet lever in focus---always recall the heavy duty springs on the hinges.anyone have ideas??

Well the bonnet stay looks the same as the Austin 1100! But the front-mounted radiator means it can't be Razz
