Deviating slightly from the Capri topic the best car I ever had in the snow was a Hillman Imp. With all the weight in the back it had some grip. _________________ The Clan Chieftain |

I've driven everything from pushbikes to 44 tonne artics in the snow and the best vehicle ever has to be my Range Rover.
Last week I had to go to an isolated location near Dunlop travelling along a single track road where the snow was up to 12" deep, the Range Rover never spun the wheels once and behaved impeccably, I'm well impressed

Austin Sevens take a lot of beating - I've even towed a Landrover out of a snow drift with a Seven |

I ventured out this morning in the Range Rover and the temperature was -14c. The only reason I was out is because the MOT was almost ready to expire so off I went to my MOT garage which is 10 miles away. Chris who has been the MOT mechanic there for a number of years noticed that there was a brake light out so a quick screwdriver job and that was repaired. On the ramp and everything was well but when it came to do the emissions the machine was frozen. A well placed heater was employed to thaw it out before I eventually received my pass certificate. 1 down and plenty more to do. _________________ ROVER

Mini's are good fun!
Other than that the Fast-trac is quite good, or a Case Puma 210, just with Winter diesel! Or the relavant kerosine in added!
Cheers

| My 1800 landcrab will go almost anywhere. It is currently snowed in to its garage and the local footpaths are dangerously icy so I can't get down to it. |

We once drove a Landcrab through drifts which had literally buried a Cortina in a country lane in which one of our drivers had been forced to abandon the car the previous evening, AND reversed it out towing the Cortina! Incidentally, the Cortina would not tow-start. When we lifted the bonnet it was absolutely packed solid with snow. The Landcrab performance almost denied belief. _________________ Quote from my late Dad:- You only need a woman and a car and you have all the problems you

Don't dare use my midget after the roads have been salted. All I will find next morning will be a pile of rust... _________________ Due to the onset of my mid eighties I'm no longer sprightly and rarely seen in my Austin special. I have written a book though. https://amzn.eu/d/7rwRRqL |
