For me... this was an interesting little video.
Could it be one of the early HCC outings ?... probably not as most of the 'vans appear to be 1960s models.
click here to see the video.

I say what a jolly spiffing old jaunt in the bally old caravans, chaps. Incredable stiff upper lip the chappy had narrating the show, what ! Rather cheery tunes as well, sure to get one in the spirit of tootling off with the old 'van. Well chaps and chapesses cheerio till next time . _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)

Well you've set me off on a nostalagia trip now. Those Pathe news clips really take me back, the music, the narrators voice, love it, miss it. Wasn't aware of the web site until now. Great place to explore.

| A great video, Cobber - exactly how caravanning should be! I had to keep winding the video back to look at what appeared to be a cream-coloured Freeman caravan being towed at speed around the race circuit. The back of the van kept disappearing from view before I could see the badge, but it looked like a longer version of our Wel-Free. |

| I just can't convince my wife that if we push her Nyala into the canal it will float |

Well that caravan / boat thing was quite a triumph of getting a brick to float! Also a good way to commit suicide with the engine inside the caravan pumping out carbon monoxide!!!!!!!
The other thing I noticed about most of the many caravaning films on the site is that everyone looks freezing cold and its windy as hell and full cloud cover! Not much chance in the weather there then ! _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)

that was just superb just to go back on the thread a bit ,i have a retrovisor but its for display only,as the rubber suction pads that attach the visor to the car dont work very well, any faster than thirty MPH, and it ejects of the back of the car and under the van
The" caraboat" in the clip was still around a few years ago, a mate of mine restored it, tried to float it, but was just to heavy at the back , a nice idea but a poor design |
