can you identify this axle? 67 mustang?

ive got this rear axle which has 11inch brake backplates so 10 inch drum, it measures 1430mm between hub flanges (56.2"), the UJ yoke is 80m with 28mm caps, the axle is marked c70w 4025-A 18, ive done a few googles but its the 18 bit that doesnt come up

Ford 8 inch probably from a 1971-77 Maverick.

This type rear end is referred to as an 8 or 9 inch which is the size of the ring gear as 47Jag related.
Your casting numbers indicate that it's an 8 inch and your measurements would put it in a Ford Maverick.
There should be a tin tag bolted to the center housing but I don't see it in your photos. Not unusual as they get lost or tossed. The tag would have more letters/numbers and would give the axle ratio.

are the drive shafts easily slide hammered out or are they held with c clips?

To remove axle shafts, remove the 4 bolts that hold the retainer to the brake backing plate and housing tube.
There is a large hole in the axle flange to reach the bolts. Just turn the axle to each one.
The axle will then pull out along with the retainer, seal, and axle bearings.

Once the axles are removed the center section will come out by removing the outer nuts. The center carrier can then be serviced on a work bench if need be.
