Hi All
I have had old cars for many years now mainly 60s 70s and 80s and thought it was time to get my first old caravan now when i say old it is i think mid 70s unless some one can tell me different it is an Elddis Shamal which needs a little tlc on the out side mainly the inside is very good and mainly original i believe it is very dry to inside.
This will be my first old van project and i am looking forward to getting her looking proper 70s retro!!!! i bought it just before Christmas so now spring is here i will be starting work soon here are some pictures.
If any one has any info on this model it would be much appreciated

Welcome. Nice one.
You'll be surprised how much stuff is still available in caravan dealers. Window trim, door locks, etc etc. Much more sensible than buggering about with decrepit old Winchesters and the like! |

Now Now Uncle Alec, I quite like messing about with woodworm.
If you listen carefully you can hear them munching in the night, when tucked up in bed.
Cash it in for a new ONE. |

Yes we love the wall paper in the wash room to its great i am going to really get it looking pure 70s.
Now the tow car is going to be something to think about as i love my Vauxhall,s and Triumphs i have a 1967 Victor 101 which will not pull it with 5 up as well!! My TR7V8 not a family car at all then there is my 2002 Omega Elite V6 which is fine to pull it but not old and then there is my trusty 1993 Carlton Diamond est which again is fine but not old so if i like this vintage caravaning i may have to get something to match the van later on so for now it will be the Carlton i have had 3 more modern caravans before but fancied getting into older vans so this one is a good start. |

I think Elddis were connected in some way with the transport company in north east England, the company owned by a chap called Siddle, which of course spelt backwards is Elddis. |
