This summer I also bought a 1970 VW 1500, and a kit car to replace the old body with. A kit made in sweden in the 80's. Only made in very few, and even fewer have survived the time.
It was a trip all the way to Göteborg and back again in 1 day. Not so much fun cause the guy wasnt to understand
While im waiting for the snow to clear so I can go get my new 1955 Ford Popular 104E, im hopeing to get the body on the vw before that.
Trial fit this summer:
Finally got the time beetween restoring house (have a deadline says the bank) and got the pan cleaned and there is only 2 rustholes and the frontbeam (I think its called in english) needs replaceing.
The plan with the engine is to either get it redone or build it up to a 1600:

What an interesting project. I can't say I've ever seen (or heard!) of one before.
Well done for saving it _________________ Richard Hughes |

There are some quite extreame looking kit cars around. I sometimes search ebay to look at them. There was a Lambougini Countach I was looking at. Most people would not know the differance appart from the interior was not so nice maybe! But put a big ole engine in and get it to go over 70mph and whos to know its a kit car...other than true Lambo guys. On a Lotus forum there is a topic about the no end of people who stop and say wow nice Ferarri!!? (even though most say Lotus on the back lol)And that even happens in Nofolk home of Lotus!

Got 1 hour more today, so I got the other side done also, and gave it some primer, only pedal area and the rust holes did not get. Will get when rustholes repaired and pedals taken off.
Also got the new parts to replace the rustholes with.

Had 1 more hour today, so got the rustholes cut out, the new peaces fitted, welded and primed. When I was welding the last 3 holes left from the seat mount, the welder broke unfortnely. So right side still misses a bit.

Thanks.
The project is on a tempery standby, because I bought a barn find with 4 fords.
And cause there is a lot of things there shall be made right to fit the Danish rules. And some fiberglass there needs to be done in some kind of smart way to fit the pan right. _________________ 1938 Ford 10 7W
