I need help with these two cars, I think one is a Minever, and the other a Jag, both were connected to a unsolved mystery murder case in Gloucestershire in 1938, I need to know if they are the cars I mentioned, and if so what model are they, I am sorry the quality of the pics are not very good, I look forward to your comments.

I hope these pics are loaded up ok, I am new to computers and how to upload pics.

First is a Minerva (looks RR'ish but late Minerva more likely from rad top shape) possibly one of the 6 cylinder models 3.4 or 6 litre and the second is a Jaguar SS Saloon either 2.5 or 3.5 engine presumably.
The GU reg is a London 1929 issue and the DXT London again from 1937.

Hi Keith,

Number 2 is a 1937 2½ litre SS Jaguar. The 3½ litre model wasn't introduced until 1938 and the spare wheel wasn't stored as a side mount for '38 onwards. http://www.jag-lovers.org/brochures/37cat.html

Thank you Peter for your information, one of the people I think was involved in the murder worked at the Piccadilly Hotel, very close to Henlys
showroom in Piccadilly, the SS Jaguar I think was the murder weapon, Sir Bernard Spilsbury said he thought the torso had been hit by a high powered car before being cut up, it seems very apt that the emblem on the car said Celeriter Et Silentio, ( Swift And Silent ) I would love to know what became of that car, thanks again for yours and others help.
Regards Keith
