I have recently inherited some old photographs from a Scottish relative.
This is one of them. It was taken in Perthshire c 1934. I would be SO grateful to discover what sort of car it is please? Also, what sort of price it would have been at the time of manufacture. Many thanks in anticipation. Heather [/img]

Hello Rick
Thanks so much for this fast reply .... do you know when this particular shap was manufactured please? You hit the nail on the head with the ID and I've done a little research - the Corley was manufactured 1926 - 1931, yes? but am I right in thinking the shape changed during that time. Certainly the one you pointed to me is spot on and I found another like it on the web which was dated 1928.

Can you let me have specifications etc and would you have an idea of price at all? I'm not asking for much, am I? Smile

Heather

Is that George Bernard Shaw in the front passenger seat?

Hi Heather,

Perhaps here:

http://www.morrisregister.co.uk/2735cowley.htm

In "The Morris Motor Car" by Harry Edwards he states that "The Morris Cowley range for the 1928 season offered a four-seater saloon in addition to the two-door model. Prices were £185 and £177 10s respectively."

Many thanks one and all .... the information has helped me so much. It is really appreciated.

Smile No ... not Bernard Shaw - it's my Great-Grandfather Alexander Petrie.

Many thanks again. Heather
