I went out to a nearby town today on a few errands, so opted to go via the back lanes and use the Minor.
How about a thread for photos of pre- and post-war classics, on regular journeys that otherwise would have been taken in a modern. Say a trip to the shops, or on a visit to friends? Ie oldies in use, and not just at shows or pre-organised events.
Plenty of people on here use their classics as regular, or daily users, so there should be no shortage of photos showing cars out n about, at the local supermarket, and so on
Here's three from today's pleasant amble down the lanes.

Rick,
That's fabulous! Isn't this what our hobby's all about?
The Minor looks superb, especially in a country setting with no other traffic. Built to be used!

My life's not quite sad enough yet for me to take photo's of a shopping trip to Asda but its getting there, but going to B&Q and putting six 6' fence posts on the back seat and out the sliding roof on my 1949 P3 Rover did draw a crowd once or was it the three bags of cement that I sat on the back seat that made them tut and nod disapprovingly. |

My A35 is usually in everyday use and here are some pictures of it in use - unfortunately it's off the road at the moment with work needed for the MOT (a new suspension pan is the last thing to do, just waiting for it to be delivered now)
At Halfords:
At Asda (sorry about the small picture - I don't know where the original has got to!):

Why do you think I took the picture?
This one has appeared recently, it is in VERY good condition with no rust and is obviously cherished by its owner. _________________ Richard Hughes |

I thought that your Asda had gone one step further than mine, which has parking bays for Mothers with kids, mothers expecting kids, disabled +++, so bays specifically for classics could be next. What a great idea!!

Shortly afterwards, at a nearby DIY emporium, the bonnet was up, your's truly thumping the end of the starter with the handle to free up (I think) a stuck bush. It worked

Been there, done that!
I wonder how many old cars have little starting handle marks on the body of their starter motors?
