I'm considering anything at the moment Michael.
If you can get me some contact details of the owner or some photos that would be great.
Thanks Clive _________________ Car-Nut

Funny story for you guys concerning red MK 10s Back in the day when I was just a small boy (about 1968) my father had a signal red MK 10 with a black (painted) roof (Ive got some photo's of it some were) we lived in Newbury at the time and would often run up to London on a Sunday or to Windsor or Richmond park for a day out as dad loved driving the car as much as he could. At the time Angus Ogilvy the Husband of Princess Alexandra of Kent also I believe owned a Red Jag and lived in a lodge within Richmond great park. So one Sunday we were stuck in a queue of traffic waiting to turn right across the flow of on coming cars into Richmond park we must have been about twenty cars back when a police man on point duty at the park entrance spotted this big red imposing Jag and with a fluster of waving arms brought all traffic to a stop in all directions. Pointing to us and gesturing furiously it was obvious he wanted us to pull out and pass all the other traffic. my mum almost died of embarrassment but my dad with a grin on his face just swung the car out and glided (as only MK 10s can) past all the other cars who were all straining to see who it was in the Jag, to top it all as we turned into the park the copper came to attention and saluted as we passed, now I wonder who he had mistaken us for!
This car of my father's started a life long love affair with those big jags and I have in my time owned a white 1970 420g and a 1963 3.8 Mk 10, so enjoy it as there really rather good and far better to drive than people give them credit for. |
