I have located a very sad looking Creighton Caravan, I was after some information on them before I decide to buy it. |

I have an advert or two which I could dig out if required.
Made in east Lancs I seem to remember; noted for the Creighton Gull, an amphibious effort in the same vein as my much-missed Amphibian Otter. There was one parked outside a timber suppliers in Bury I used to use. All subject to my failing memory following my 60th birthday last Friday. |

This is in December 1965 "Caravan". Sorry for quality. I must have other ads from Creighton, but I don't have time to plod through all my old caravan mags, there's hundreds of them. When I've finished my current magazine publication I'll see what I can do. I have a road test somewhere.

Interesting!
The area is right and the name is right. Did they also (perhaps later) build boats?
I had a 32ft Creighton GRP cruiser. Very well made and almost as good as new, although it was probably nearly thirty years old.
Wonderful boat! Wish I still had it!
If they are/were the same firm and their caravans were as well built they must have been at the head of the field. _________________ Quote from my late Dad:- You only need a woman and a car and you have all the problems you

Hi
Its a Creighton from around 1960 poss a Poodle, yes they made boats, statics, trailertents and motorhomes as well as the sailing Gull. The man stanley Creighton died two yeas ago and I met him where he told me all about company etc - very clever man!
Not many around now but I have found a few late 60's models - a great project these were quality vans |
