Just an update on the record challange. So far every thing is going well as planned, and we have a list of events over the weekend for those that want to take part in although it is not compulsary of course.
any body that has booked to exhibit can start turning up from lunch time on thursday if they want to.
Firstly for any one that is there on the friday befor the challange there is a informal classic car meeting in Melton Mowbray market place (all classics welcomed), and a road run has been organised for any one that wants to go along, also the town carpark free after 6pm is only 400 yds away for those with out a classic car. the town has several good pub's and resteraunts around the market place for those that want to induldge
Then on the saturday afternoon we have aranged for all exhibiters to have a 'Free' ride on the world famouse 'stapleford minature railway check out www.fsmr.org.uk
the record challange starts its 24 hrs at 7pm on saturday evening and there is a quiz being held in the beer tent for all those that want to take part
on sunday there is a cake baking contest full details of catergries are on the exhibiters info sheet
and at 7pm the record attempt finishes with us declaring either a world record or a uk record or a complete failure depending on how many actualy turn up.
there will be a raffle on the sunday night in the beer tent and any one that needs to leave the venue can do so. monday is the second day of the open weekend and it is hoped that as many of you that want to stay will do so with us not having to leave the site till 10am on tuesday.

The earliest that you can get onto site is Thursday 26th at lunch time, and if you want to you don't need to be off site until Tuesday at 10am. If you are there on Friday, Barry Cole, the guy with the purple Hillman Imp and Thomson MiniGlen is organizing a road run in the evening to the market place in Melton Mowbray where a informal Classic Car meeting Held there the last Friday of the month during the summer. Will you be taking part in the cake baking contest? Nich _________________ Nobody saw me do it, you can't prove a thing!! |

Hello All.
Will the vintage vans be viewable to the public at this event?
Wouldn't mind popping accross to take a look if they are.
Many thanks
Wes. |

What a fabulous weekend, despite the wind and the wasps.
Well done Nich and Amanda. Thank you for all you hard work, and planning over the months for this very special event. Things don't just "happen" without much thought and preparation.
We had a fantastic time, catching up with old rally friends from a few years since, and those from more recent rallies. We met Emmerson and Brian and the young man with the fire engine photo on his mails (sorry, can't remember your title), restoring the very unusual van.
Interesting to meet Andrew Jenkinson after correspondence dating back five years.
The site and park land views were truly beautiful, and there were some wonderful caravans. We even saw our old Stirling, carefully looked after by Nich and Amanda. |
