I applied to DVLA Swansea for information on a car I aquired a few months ago.
I found the phone number and address on google of the first owner,he still lived at the same address in North Wales, after all these years.
He told me all about the car and how they towed a caravan with it,From where they lived in North Wales to Devon,Somerset,Cornwall etc.
For those technical buffs out there it is a Hillman Minx Californian 1390cc engine, about 43 bhp, year built 1956.
The car is very nice to drive but would not set any time trials, they must have been very keen to tow their caravan with this all over the place.
This first photo was taken in 1968 at Dawlish.

This photo was taken in 1967 at R Loose (not sure where that is).

This is Dartmoor in 1969.
I have the full history of the car now as I also tracked down the next owner after this gentleman,I am the third owner.
Will I tow a caravan with it I am not sure. |

Why not tow one?
Probably very capable with a small light-weight one. _________________
