Hi All
I joined the forum today, and straight away I'm making demands!!
Does anyone have any photos, please of the inside of an E83W van roof?
I need to do my roof and while I can see what the outside is supposed to look like, I can find no picture references for the inside... and I want to get it right!
Many thanks in advance,

Hi Dawn,
Welcome to the forum!! It's a while since I had a van, or looked inside one, but from memory all you see from inside is a few slim crossbars, and the underside of the canvas itself. No headlining that I'm aware of. The rubber seal around the edge sits in a recessed channel around the edge of the opening, this sometimes gets cut away due to rust.

PS any photos of your van to hand?!?!??!?? _________________ Rick - Admin

Hi Rick, and thanks for the swift reply.
I will set up a photobucket account, then send a photo. In the meantime, basic E83W van, hole where roof should be and no glass in windows (next task, after roof), currently in that well known shade of 'primer red'!
So, back to the roof: vinyl on top, with seal, wadding beneath vinyl, calico/canvas under wadding, roof ribs holding it all up and visible from the inside. Excellent. Looks like a couple of busy weekends...!
May I pick your brains about windows too? I have the glass and the mechanism for the front windows and the glass for the rear windows. Are there any diagrams anywhere to show what else I need? I've got the small E83W handbook, and the larger blue 10hp manual, but they're a bit vague. I've also got the E83W parts list, which gives me the original reference nos, but no pics!
Thanks again,
Dawn |
