having spent some time browsing what there is on the market, having had a chance to look in some vans at shows, I have decided a Cheltenham would suite me best - being a good combination of period charm, quality and practicality. The lines of the Cheltenham would also look particularly good behind my Rover P6. Ideally I am after a Puku 2 or Sable. I missed one (just today) but it was quite a distance away. There is Waterbuck near me, but I would prefer the layout of the 2 door models.
Cash is waiting for the right van - so lead me to it!

|
|
At the start of the year I bought a Sable that had had one owner from new and had been kept undercover all its life. Its a late sixties model with glass windows and a cream paint finish. It has been completely re-upholstered with new cushion covers and curtains and has new floor covering. The chromework has been re chromed at huge cost. The van was invited to be shown at Vintage Goodwood this year but I just don't have the time or inclination to become a full time caravanner. So it could be for sale, I'm only looking to get my money back on it (it is kept undercover at the moment)

I paid a deposit for a nice sound condition Sable on Saturday - more details to follow once I have got it back to Sussex.
Thanks for all the tips and leads - unfortunately I could only buy one!
I've no doubt I'll be posting more of my challenges and triumphs once I get the van back home!
