Is it worthwhile jacking up the caravan and removing the road wheels for storage during winter season?

Yes and no, its just as bad to leave them out all summer unused, UV rays age the rubber and cause cracking.

Both winter and summer will cause flat spots if unused for a long time. Mine are on all year but when its in storage I inflate the tyres to 50psi to help reduce the flat spots.

In answer to your question yes it would be better to remove them during winter, and in summer if you dont use it often.

I've just put my old Castleton away in storage today for the winter. I leave it on its legs, which are wound down so much so the wheels are off the ground. No flat spots on the tyres and takes the weight off of the suspension.
Is this a bad thing to do, leaving it on its legs? I’ve been doing it now for the last four years and haven’t seen or noticed anything to say otherwise. Confused

The legs are designed to steady it not lift it, it will put a lot of stress on the chassis especially on an old Caravan. If the body has any weak points this is a good way to find them Shocked I would chock it on blocks of wood or axle stands if you want to keep the tyres off the ground.

Your right.
I ought to do something about it really. It's been sat for 5 or 6 months each year on its legs. I think I'll go over today and have a crawl around under it... Rolling Eyes
