Yes, it's a sad loss, there cant be many of the old comics left that could make you laugh without swearing or being crude. R.I.P.

Sir Norman Wisdom. I saw him once walking down King St, St Helier Jersey. I would have been about 16, which means he would have been about 46 and it seemed then, that he had been around for ever.

My Mum always thought he was too silly to laugh at, but I can remember me and my Dad used to love his appearances on TV.

Anyone remember the night he sat on the edge of the stage and sang "Don't Laugh at Me 'cos I'm a fool" He sang it with such sadness that the audience were in tears, then all of a sudden he stopped, got up and laughed, making the remark.... "you should see your faces "

Very sad, I have all his films on DVD and enjoy watching them, so innocent and simple but very entertaining. Also with the added bonus of period Streets, Shops and vehicles.

His talent will be sadly missed, a real gentlemen and liked his cars too.

I met him many years ago when working for a mazda dealership, the then new SX200 had just come in and he had me take him on a test drive, hedidn't settle for the slow version either. I did get to sit in his lovely Rolls with the Jersey sheep skin covers he always insisted on having.
