Pretty sure the one we had (just pre-war reg.) was rods. Definitely not hydraulic. We had several pre-war Austins when I was an apprentice. I believe they were all rods. Possibly Girling.

Definitely rods. More probably Bendix Cowdrey than Girling I reckon.

I thought Bendix were all cable operated (with scary twin leading shoes all round!)? Unless Bendix Cowdrey are different?
