Hello

Here is my newest car.

It's a Ford model Y pickup from 1935

It's missing a few parts but theres no rust what it's good.

by the way... if anyone has a grille to sell or know any place where i can get one let me know. It's a long grille not the shortest.

That's a lovely old pickup you've found there Smile

I don't know of anyone with a grille for sale, but I'm sure that now you're in the Y & C Register one will turn up. If I see one I'll let you know.

I did have one or two dials out of the rusty saloon I had years ago, but they were pretty bad. I'll check to see if I still have them or not.

Rick

(did you see this photo I added recently? http://www.oldclassiccar.co.uk/model-y-pickup.htm)

Hi Rick.

Yes i saw that picture.

Very nice pickup that one.
The gauges i already found the 3 and i'm about to receive more 2 to use the ones in better shape

I also found a set of original headlamps

From the parts that i was more worryed only the grille is missing.
I don't have seats neither windows mechanish neither door locks neither windows neither the bench seat but that ones if i don't find original i'll put something else and no one will ever know. Only the grille is worrying me for me Smile

I don't think there'll be a problem finding a longrad grille (there's a short one on ebay today).

Is the bumper fitted upside down in the photo?

Rick

yeah i saw that one on ebay... too bad isn't a long one.

I don't know if the bumper is fitted well. I dont even know if the pickup should have bumper or not.. but one man form the Y & C register told me the bumper is not original from a model Y

Small Ford Parts and Pop Parts Plus may also have something, although they may not be the cheapest places to buy from.

well at this time i already bought some parts from small ford spares. wasn't cheap but at least were fast and as described (mainly used parts).
With new parts i'll shop a bit around and try to find the best price Smile

By the way.. anyone knows if the door locks, windows mechanism and shock absorvers on a model Y are similar to any other car so i can search for more then model Y?

Thanks for your help

Today i found this one in a junkyard..

It has the grille that i need and a few other bits. but it's so rotten and rusty that i thought that £260 was too much for 2 rusty door locks, 2 rusty windows lifters, rusty acellerator pedal and rotten grille.. Sad

I'm thinking in buy maybe this one.. but it also needs repairs and costs £130 Shocked

What an unbelievably lucky find. It is as close as you could get to a Ford Y in model form, and as there was no factory-made pick-up ever, it is hard to understand the origins of the model. Maybe it is unique!
