ok so i am not an english car guy I prefer american muscle cars from the days of old an old mustang or corvette. so this little van is not what I am accustomed to working on, probably why it has sat for so long.

That's lovely, and it must be really rare in the US as well.

There are some vans about, in the US and in Canada, but I've not seen a chip van version so could well be a one off. Not exactly big $$$ but a neat little van that would be fun to see running again Smile

ok I find myself torn as to what to do with this little gem it has been in the family from new. I ended up with this when my great uncle passed away
its been kept inside for the last 40 plus years i spin the motor over a couple times a year to keep it free. So the big question restore it leave it sit and collect dust or part with it and let some lucky guy have a piece of history. Wish my twins were boys and one had an interest but my girls just want there Horses , not horse power.

So advise me what would you do with it?

Get it running Smile

Sadly many of these vans get torn apart, butchered about and converted into hot rods or dragsters Evil or Very Mad Unless you can find a caring home for it with someone who will restore it, I'd be inclined to hang on to it and maybe fix it up over time.

Hi

6V from standard

Try google for Small ford spares, then click on E83W

Otherwise to get it going you could soon put a Vapormatic switch on, with a lucas key.

Look forward to your pics and questions.

Cheers

Dave

No problem with finding a replacement ignition switch - workshop manuals turn up quite often too, as do handbooks - the latter is the first thing you should get as they have a useful amount of info in them, and only cost a few £.

Rick

PS great to hear that you're planning on keeping it Smile
