| 1956 Willerby Vogue on ebay at the moment, 260641401683 needs a lot of work but there are obviously some keen people with time and money as it's over a £1000 for a broken shell/rotten chassis/shot tyres/no interior. |

That depends on how much you want one, tis a rare item at the end of the day and I payed that sort of money for a rusty, bent roofrack for my van in recent times _________________ Fisher Siesta Caravan x3 |

Yes, I suppose anything is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it? _________________

Pics and blurb for future reference
listing this for my dad who has no internet. its a circa 1956 willerby vogue caravan, believed to be only 6 left today. it requires extensive restoration and is not for the feint hearted, that said,it would make a perfect accessory behind a car of the same period. ok,here goes with the description. it has no interior at all,non fitted, non supplied save for the overhead lockers which are part of the structure.it has broken or missing windows, the towing Aframe has long rotted away so WILL NOT TOW! it is sat on its wheels though the tyres are shot.there are many cracks in the fibreglass, some are structural causing the body to sag in places.it has some holes in the fibreglass bodywork, some big some not so. in my opinion it would be easyest to put the body on a more modern caravan chassis rather than repair the old one .viewing is strongly recommended to appreciate the work needed to put it right. if you win without looking first, dont come crying. this is a major restoration project, you wont be able to tow it away to cornwall next weekend with the kids, the dog,and aunty mabel!! you will need a trailer with a winch to remove it,we can assist at this end to load you up. COLLECTION ONLY,FROM DN21 4SX, WILL NOT POST,WONT TOW IT TO THE OUTER HEBRIDES FOR A FIVER AND A SOGGY SANDWITCH,WONT WEIGH IT ,WONT CLEAN IT,RESTORE IT ,PUT NEW TYRES ON IT,YOU CANT LIVE IN IT IN THE YARD WHILE YOU RESTORE IT! COLLECTION ASAP AT A MUTUALLY AGREED TIME,CASH ON COLLECTION,YOU BID YOU WIN YOU BUY,NO EXCUSES,REMMEMBER,,,VIEWING ADVISED. YOU CAN CALL ALAN ON 07856213439 TO ARRANGE VIEWING,ASK SENSIBLE QUESTIONS ETC. NO RESERVE,WINNING BIDDER BUYS IT. |

Good to hear.
It's easy getting hung up on how much you paid; when all's said & done they volunteered to pay that amount, the condition seems obvious from listings photos, and it seems they will soon be able to enjoy this rare van. When they start using it they will be the centre of attention and won't believe how much praise is heaped on them. Price won't seem so important at that stage.
What's the intended tow car?
Any recent piccies of the Vogue? |

| i am trying to post pics at the moment but still a little confused and the intended car eventually is a vw campervan but wether or not that happens i dont know. we already have the van its just putting a big enough engine in it to pull the old caravan. |

I do think your parents are very brave taking on such a restoration and good luck to them.
But I do wonder sometimes, after so much is replaced is it really the same "old" caravan. Reminds me of the guy who found an old rusty nut and bolt in his garden and reconised it at the last bit off his grandads 1928 Langonda, so he decided to restore it and rebuilt the rest of the car around this nut and bolt. The finished item was awesome, all in mint condition and he was given pride of place in all the shows. But that rusty old nut and bolt just didnt look right beside all the rest of the shinny car. So he took it off, threw it away and put in a nice new one. _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)
