Looking at some youtube clips of the London To Brighton vetern car run I also came across the well known 4 minute London to Brighton train film made back in the 1950s, I've had a hunt round and found it strange that no one has slowed it down to normal speed, cab ride videos are quite popular I have some on the London underground and this would make a good period film if played at normal speed, any one ever come across this?

If you replayed the original 4 minute film over the normal journey time you'd only get about one frame per second which wouldn't really look like a movie film. (Normal movie frame rates are between 16 and 24 frames/sec)
It would be a bit like thumbing through a photo album.

I have this on 8mm film (somewhere) Peter.
Perhaps I could slow it down to make a boring slide show! Very Happy
Jim.

Come on then Jim, find that film. Let's see 20 seconds worth at 1 frame per second.
