Hi, I have only become seriously interested in classic cars in the last 18 months but managed to buy a 1965 Triumph TR4A last summer.

I must admit that my mechanical knowledge is - to say the least - limited, but I'm learning. Fortunately the car was in generally good condition when I bought it and I'm doing my best to keep it that way.

I'm a keen amateur photographer so I really like to see pictutres of the cars people own and the events they go to.

This is my car

Happy motoring to you all !

Welcome to the forum John, I love the looks of those old TRs, design wise they seemed to go downhill from there.

Hi Norfolkjohn

Fine car but is it not a 1968 model?

Yes - I have to admit it was the look of the car that attracted me to the TR4A. The 4 / 4A / 5 / 250 all had very similar bodies styled by the Italian designer Michelotti. I think they all still look stylish today - but I'm biased ! Must say I also like the look of the earlier TR sidescreen cars (TR2 / 3 / 3A) but they are just a little less practical in UK weather.

Hi Inglewood - you win the prize for spotting the F reg Smile. When I first looked at the car prior to buying it I remarked it must be a very late production 4A given the registration but was told - no it was built in 65. The car was first registered in the UK in February 68 (actually after 4A production had ended) but it had spent the first two and a half years of its life on Jersey where it had a local J registration. In fact after some research (and a lot of help from a fellow TR owner in Jersey) I managed to confirm the car was originally registered J48 !

Frazzel & Peter - thanks for your kind comments. I'll pass them on to "Shadow". That's what I call the car - because its black (sad I know Rolling Eyes )

michael 1703 - I'm planning on going to a few shows / events over the summer - mainly North or West of Norwich. But in your general direction I'm looking at Helmingham Hall in August also planning to go to Euston Park near Thetford in June. I'm helping with the classic vehicles at the Seething Airfield Air day in September too. Just put up a post about that in the Events section.

What type of car do you have ?

I'm at Helmingham and Euston for definite, not sure which car I will be taking, I will put up an event reminder nearer the time though.

Hi Norfolk John

Did I meet you at the Larlin Angel a few months back at a Lotus meeting? If not there was a couple of TR chaps there. One ex TR owner living in Sheringham now with an Excel.

Any way good to have another member from Norfolk. You car looks absolutly fab! I love that colour it makes it look really Italian (in a good way) Ouzzes style.

Hi Buddsy,

No it wasn't me but there are quite a few TR owners hiding out in the North of the county. Thanks for the kind comments about the car - she looks not bad from a distance but close up she shows her age a little - but that adds character I like to think Cool .

What sort of Lotus do you have ?

John I think most of the cars maybe look a little better in the pictures then sometimes in the flesh, unless a lot of money has been spent!! But then these cars are quite old so whats a few blemishes here and there!

My car is a 1985 Turbo Esprit, not too old but still taking me an age to get back together!
