I have recently purchased, from a very pleasant man in Birmingham, a trailer to tow behind my 34 Wolseley 9. As you can see it needs some restoration!. I have not seen many period trailers at shows and am surprised as they are very usefull if you have a small car. The axle is is from a light car of the 30's , the previous owner thought maybe a small Singer. I have put a couple of photos on to see if anyone can recognise which car the hub/brakes and axle are from

Tim
The hubs and drums look very like the ones on my DLM front axle.
And that is, we believe, from a 1935 Standard 9.

I'll sort some photos of the Hubs, as to the internals mine have been converted to Hydraulics from a Ford 105e so can't coment on the brake parts.

Is there a casting mark near the centre of the axle.

BTW there was another trailer, 1936, for sale in Tollesbury, too big for The DLM.

Some early Singers had "S" in the centre of the hubcap, which I can't see in your photo. Any chance of a larger pic showing the centre of the wheel/cap?

RJ

PS nice trailer Smile

Thanks it will look nice when it's done...., I have not yet scraped the rust off the beam , but will have a go tomorrow to see if there are any casting marks. The hubcaps are odds, one is the same as my Wolseley nine , and one looks like a morris 8 - so no clues there.
