We've spent the last few weekends at vintage shows across Herefordshire and Worcestershire in beautiful countryside, generally excellent weather and equally excellent company. Below are photos of just a few of the many caravans we have seen, taken at Bromyard, Much Marcle, Welland and Trimpley.

I was reminded yesterday of how the occasional member of the public doesn't quite see our 'prides and joys' as we do . . . Standing in the doorway of our Winchester, one woman exclaimed to me, "How lovely; can I go inside and have a closer look?" It was only when she dropped to her knees and asked, "How do you get it to light?", that I realised that it was not the caravan she was admiring, but the paraffin bowl heater on the floor in front of her! Having got her answer, she promptly got up again and left . . .

Has the Klu Klux Klan disguised themselves and infiltrated the Vintage Caravan scene as per photo no 2. Confused

G'day Barry,

Thanks for adding the extra information Wink

That 1955 "home built" looks very professional.... do you know if it was actually built in 1955 or modelled on a 1955 'van ?
What relevance does the name "Crompton" have ?

Very hard to pick a favourite amongst that lot...... so I won't even try Confused

Cobber.

Hi Cobber,

The caravan was built in 1955 by Mr. W. Crampton of Halifax, hence the name. He apparently modelled it on a Winchester caravan. The interior is very nice too - I didn't get round to taking any photographs though.

Hey, great pic's! Does anybody know who the owner of the 1933 car cruiser caravan is and how I could get in touch with them? I believe it was my grandfathers old van. Many thanks in advance to anyone who could help.

I think I saw the Crampton at Belvoir Castle steam rally. It was fantastic inside and out.

when we first started caravaning in the early 70's i remember these being everywhere in various colours inc blue, yellow & poss orange, but can't seem to find one anywhere?
do's anyone know what the make/model is? & where i might get one?

thanks craig
