Thanks for posting the pics. Blimey a 1980s Nissan, I thought (hoped?) they'd all been squashed by now, I suppose it's a few years old now but at a classic car show - really??? (I can hear the tin of worms opening already Wink)

This is the first year I've not attended either of the two main events at Tatton in 20+ years, maybe next year Smile

I don't see anything wrong with the Nissan Cherry, but what is the (Audi TT?) modern sports car doing in the background? Confused

I think this one is billed as the "Classic and Sports Car Show", (nothing to do with the magazine) so that's why there are more modern vehicles there. The earlier one is called something else.

It's easy to forget that orange Nissan is 25 years old, and would be on free road tax now if it were still a rolling cut-off date. Yet my Firenza was only about ten years old when I first started taking it to classic car shows.

That said, I was quite disappointed when queueing to get in behind a 51-registered Jaguar saloon car which appeared to have nothing at all special about it, and then parked on a stand with quite a few other non-special almost new Jags. As space is so limited, and these are neither classics (yet) nor sports cars, it seemed silly that it was there.

The problem is at some shows clubs book a stand and then cater for makes still in production i,e... Jaguar,BMW,Mercedes,Vauxhall etc.
I could enter my Vauxhall Vivaro Van if I wished.!!!
If you go to the smaller or vintage shows you do not tend to get this problem.
We stopped going to Ashby Foville for this reason, too many modern cars getting in under the Classic banner.
