Dear all,
My most excellent life partner has asked me for some ideas for 'stocking fillers' for the forthcoming festive event. I do not have an inspection lamp and would like one. Can members make their recommendations for a good inspection lamp please? Perhaps this could be taken further and other tools put forward for Christmas presents!
Look forward to the response.
Tim

My lad works on light aircraft, and this involves trying to see what you are doing, in many dark corners of hangars, or inside the aircraft themselves. He swears by his Ring rechargeable led lamp. This has about 18? led's and gives a good light all day, pop it on it's charger at the end of the day, and it's ready for action next morning. Cost about £20 at many motor spares places.

What ever you go for make sure it's low voltage. Filaments in high voltage bulbs are just far too thin and fragile for getting knocked about.

As above, LEDs are tough.

Some manufacturers, eg: Snap-On, do a small LED lamp with a magnet on the back which is handy for occasions when both hands are needed Smile
...just an idea Smile

I've got a blindingly bright old quartz halogen H3 thing that plugs into the dash on the Land Rovers. Like daylight under the bonnet Cool

Yep, led is the way to go, I have a Sealey 36 led ( I think) rechargeable, it has a rubberised case so will stand being knocked about, a large clip, and hold it's charge for weeks. Best of all it's very bright!
