Does anybody know anything about or have any pics of 'Essex caravans' (the early 'Dinky' model 'fishtail' caravan with mollicroft roof)? I saw a 1937 advert which claimed it to be 'the best in the world' and winner of first prize at Olympia. Under the photo it says 'The monarch of the world'.
Id never realised the model was based on an actual van! |

G'day OVM & Trailerman,
The post you are referring to OVM can be seen HERE ...I wish it was mine
I hope you have all enjoyed the Easter break and prepared your vans for your rally season
Down here we are getting ready for our largest vintage caravan rally ever ... we are expecting about 150 caravans from all around Australia to attend
Cobber. |

Surely an " Essex " caravan would have to be much much more " bling" _________________ I can resist anything except temptation ! ( Oscar Wilde)
