Hi all, I'm trying to gauge some interest in getting some classic cars to attend our local village show in July. It's the 3rd Saturday in July, the 21st.
It's a nice little show, various things going on and events for all the family.
I've spoken to the organisers, and they'd like up to circa 50 or so classic cars to come along if at all possible. It's an afternoon event only, I will check times, but probably from circa 12pm to about 4pm ish.
I live locally, and take my young children to the show each year. It would be nice to get a few local cars down there this year.
No cost, just let me know if there's some interest please?
Thanks,

Cheers Roger, I've posted onto the EC site as well, so I'm hoping to get a few cars down. I'm trying to talk my brother into bringing his TR6, my uncle into bringing his Morris 8, and I want to get my Dad's Morris down there too, alongside mine and all the family cars. Would be good to see you there as well mate.
Do you get to the CVCM each Thursday? I might try and get down next week if it's dry and ask about there.

I will try and keep the 21st July free if you would like me to come down in the Ginetta.
A little poodle out from Chelmsford area might be nice.
Keep us posted. |

Be nice to see you again.
I might remember your name next time
Dave
Is the CVCM every Thursday now, thought it was the last Thursday of the month.
Be another excuse to save on the washing up.

Their website says every Thursday Roger. I've never yet made it down there, so am not positive. We could always pop down there next Thursday and see if you like mate? I want to see if Richard H is about too, was hoping he might make our village show also as I didn't get a chance to catch up with him at Battlesbridge. _________________ Born to rally, forced to work!

Good stuff, thanks Richard. I'll post up some more details when I have them.
It'll be on the King George V playing fields in the village, I know that much.

I will endeavour to find out some more details of this show this week and post details up here.
As far as I know, they're still looking for a classics presence, and I believe the show opens about midday, so I guess we'll need to aim about 11.30 ish to arrive.
Once I have arrival details and where to enter from, I'll let you all know here.
Same faces still coming?

Nice one Richard. I am going to a meeting tonight about this, so am hoping to post more details on here tomorrow. I understand it's definately happening, and they'd like a good turnout of cars. I'm not sure they'll get that many, but if we can muster 20-30 or so, that would be good.

Ok, details for this show are:-
Southminster Flower Show (official title)
Cars to be on the King George V playing field in Southminster by 11am.
Entrance to be via Southminster Station Car Park.
Cars have to be on site by 11am and can leave after 5pm. They do not allow vehicle movement on the field between 11 and 5 due to H&S and insurance restrictions apparently.
They can cater for a couple of hundred cars, and are hoping for as many as possible. First time they've had cars at the show, so will have to wait and see how many arrive on the day.
It's a family village show, more of a fete, so there will be other events and stalls etc going on, not just cars!
If I can find a good map to post up with directions, I'll do that over the weekend.
Hope to see some of you there. Any questions, post on here or pm me.
Cheers,
