Unfortunately it seems that both events, taking place within a mile or two of each other, are scheduled for June 24th 2012.

We usually do both, but this year we'll have to opt for just the one (most likely the former).

I've never done the Horseshoe one, mainly because it usually clashes with something else, and also it seems like there's a lot of stuff crammed into a very small space. That said, I've never heard of a problem there either. I intend to do Nantwich as it doesn't clash with CPOP this year.

The Horse Shoe is quite informal, and people tend to arrive and depart throughout the morning. We like it, but from the choice of the two, we'll be going to the Festival.

A couple of people told me today (and it's now mentioned on their website) that the Barony Park festival in Nantwich is being re-located to the football ground tomorrow, due to the boggy field.

Thanks for that, I've just taken the car home ready for this in the morning.

I doubt we'll get as many visitors though - it's not like the Football ground is right in the centre of town.

Not a bad day at Nantwich, couple of showers but many people were leaving quite early.

On the way home I dropped into the Horseshoe for a few minutes to take some snaps, the rain had gone and the sun was out by then.

Despite a few showers the Transport Festival went well, especially as the organiser only had 48 hours to re-locate it, good to meet up with MikeEdwards, ukdave (and the Z Van Smile)

Ah, I saw the Vauxhall drop snoot arrive at the Horseshoe, was with my father in law who used to work for GM, he used to run the service station at Elsemere Port, where the drop snoots were modified, he was quite keen to chat with the owner!

The silver Firenza coupe in the background of the second Horseshoe photo, behind the primrose MGB and the Herald. Not exported technically, though I did send my old Sportshatch (the dark red estate version of the above) out to Brisbane a few years back.

Pity I didn't realise about your FiL Dave, I'm always up for a chat. I did talk to two guys about it for a few minutes but I was only there for about ten on the way back to the shed. I might already have met him a few years back at Cholmondeley Castle - I was talking to someone there who told me he'd test-driven all the droopsnoots before they were delivered to dealers.
