I am in urgent need of a skylight cover 520x520 (21x21 inches in old money).
The plastic cover that sits over the skylight opening.
Clear or opaque will do.
Viking Fibrelines have these large covers.
We want to get the van out but with all this rain it needs to water tight.
I have seen plenty on Ebay etc but they are all too small, even tried plastic tray manufacturers

| Try giving BEC at Ingoldmells a call, they may not have it listed on their website but they have a lot of odd sizes in the shop |

| We restored a Carlight Casetta. Nearly fainted when we heard the price of the roof light, but Ted made one. constructed wooden frame, and bought plastic off ebay. We no longer have the van, so cannot say if it is still watertight! Best of luck with yours. |

I have the van now....its like a swimming pool inside when it rains.!!!
Only joking.
The skylight cover is just like a square seed tray...but not green or with small holes in the bottom.
Something will come along to do the job.

If you still have the original, it could be used as a mould to make a new one in fibreglass. |

hi gresham
have you thought about fitting one of the modern heki's you may be able to find a second hand one as £500 is a bit steep

The original one is in a dyke somewhere on the way home from Swaversey Steam Rally,or crushed under a large lorry....we never did find it.!!
As for these new ones you see on Ebay for ££££££ I think I will give them a miss.
We could always put a Sainsbury`s bag over the aperture.

OK, option 2...
Make a mould out of wood or whatever you have lying about. Joined seed trays? Once you have something the right general shape, take a fibreglass mould off it. Make good the mould and start producing covers. |

| Hi again. Apart from the gaping hole in the roof; did you find any other location where the water was getting in? Mine Viking is still leaking, but haven't tracked down where from, yet. |

Viking caravans normally leak around the front windows, side door frames and rear kitchen window.
I rebuilt the complete interior timberwork to the underside of the front windows on our caravan.
There was an area next to the side door/kitchen units that I also repaired It is now kept undercover and is nice and dry, even in this very wet summer of ours.
Still not found a clear plastic cover.

| There is a company near Shelf in Halifax that will make a skylight to fit, not too expensive either. Go through ecco towbars, they are a "sister" company, ask for Colin, he makes windows and skylights for all caravansfor caravans |
