Good evening to all, new here so in at the deep end! I am currently restoring an Eccles E10 caravan which I bought a few years ago, to use as steam rally accomodation... It's not in bad order, all the original furniture is present, original gas lights, cooker and sink, it has been painted white inside, but most of the oak veneer has been spared this treatment. Currently the panelling is stripped from the door side, to sort out a couple of bits of rot in the framing, but nothing too major. What I am trying to find for it is a spare wheel rim, the two wheels fitted are in good order, but I would like a proper spare rather than carrying a tin of tyre-weld! the other little question is what rear light clusters would have been fitted? The ones on it at present look like 1970s replacements, whereas the front sidelights look more 1950's in design. Any info about this model of caravan would be appreciated, and if anyone would like pics, details etc to help with other restorations, please feel free to ask!

All the best, Matt

There was a 1955 Eccles Coronation recently sold on ebay, might help as to what the rear lights could have been

Our 1966 Stirling has same style of lights

Evening all, thanks for the help with the pics of the Eccles van, it now looks like the front lights might not be the right ones either.... I have posted some pictures of the 'van and interior fittings on Photobucket, here is a link to the album:

Apologies for the poor quality of the back light photo, I was laying under the caravan taking that one! From the images on Ebay, it looks like the interior has survived quite well...

Does anyone know if the Eccles wheel rims are common to any classic car?

Matt

Just look like the old Morris minor Traveller or mini lights

Knew I had seen the small round lights somewhere before, thankyou to Moggy for where! I don't think this van has had those lights, as there are no signs of holes around those points on the back of the 'van. AFAIK, the E10 was a cheaper van made by Eccles, maybe this is why it has lights on brackets under the back rather than lights built into the body... Then again the British motorcycle and car industry were quite good at raiding the parts bins for using old parts on new models, so maybe it was a case of what Eccles could get at the time. Any more pics of Eccles rear lights gratefully received! Thank you all for your help, Matt
