Anyone else going this year?
Quote: | London – Southend Classic Vehicle Display 29th. July 2012
Due to expected traffic congestion during the Olympic Games, The South Eastern Classic and Vintage Vehicle Club is changing the format of its premier event of the year. For 2012 only, the usual London – Southend Classic Vehicle Run will be replaced by a static display in Priory Park, Southend-on-Sea (SS2 6NB). The timing will remain the same, the last Sunday in July.
As a token of appreciation to those who have supported the Club for many years and to encourage newcomers, entry will be free to pre-booked vehicles. A fee (which will be donated to charity) will be levied on any vehicles that have not pre-booked. No charge will be made to spectators.
The Club’s Chairman, Kevin Bolton, said “Once again, circumstances have made it necessary for us to make changes to this event but we hope entrants and visitors alike will appreciate the need for these and that it will not detract from their enjoyment of the day.”
In line with our normal criteria, entry will be restricted to vehicles registered before 1st January 1976 although certain post 1976 thoroughbred cars may be accepted at the organisers’ discretion.
The event has always had a family appeal and we intend to increase the number of other attractions that last year’s move away from the seafront enabled us to introduce.

As it's free and very local we plan to have at least two cars there

I would have been interested Richard, but already planning on going on the Mill Race run that day if it's still on. _________________ Born to rally, forced to work!
