Several vehicles in a road train, with a single "lead" vehicle that the others mimic

I did wonder if the lead vehicle drives in to a lamp post would all the others follow

Perhaps in generations to come, when drivers will no longer be able to parallel park, reverse towards a wall without always hitting it, recognise that they may hit the car in front and adopt a position to view the blind spot, (similar to the G-spot, it never seems to be in the same place as last time).
Perhaps then, the drivers of the future will feel comfortable putting their life in the hands of a computer with thousands of components all of which were purchased and assembled by the lowest bidder.
So I guess for me, I will continue to negotiate my way through the hazards of 2012 motoring, while chatting away on the cellphone, finding my favourite CD track and locating the nearest liquor store on my GPS, not to mention unwrapping my cling film wrapped sandwich, which I will enjoy when I have finished this cigarette. |

I watched a Top gear repeat yesterday where Clarkson was driving an S class fitted with radar designed to keep a sensible distance from the car in front.
It was impressive seeing it slow up on approaching a roundabout but they didn't show whether it continued to follow the car in front regardless of other vehicles already on the roundabout!
