|
|
I've got oily fingernails, various cuts over my hands and a bit of rust in my eye so I thought I'd register and say "Hello"!
I'm part way through a seriously protracted restoration of my 1978 Ferrari 308 GT4. The engine and rear suspension are done, still got the front suspension to do but am starting to plan for the bodywork. I've got bubbling paint and rust around the wheel arches and part way along the sills.
I don't have the skill, time or patience to do the bodywork myself so am looking for a local body shop to do the work for me.
Can anyone recommend a classic friendly body shop in the Cambridge area? |

I do like the 308 GT4's, be interested to see some piccies too. I have two mates with GT4's, and one with a 328 GTS. I am wanting a classic Ferrari more than ever now, but not going to happen.
Bit of a trek from you, but Terry Hoyles in Maldon, Essex are absolutely superb. _________________ Born to rally, forced to work!

It's been nearly three years since I worked on the car and I now can't find any of the photos I took I had before and after shots of swing arms and everything. Oh well, so much for the detailed restoration record!
I'll post some when I dismantle the front suspension.
Maldon's not too far from Cambridge so I'll check out Terry Hoyles. Thanks. |

Here's some pics of my Dino. She looks alright from a distance!
The odometer says 16k but from memory the history is more like 60k.
Car's not been on the road for 13 years - I was still using cassettes in 1999!
The engine is in fine fettle. First job I did was a full service and cambelt change. Starts fine and sounds fantastic.
Next major job is the front suspension refurbishment. It's not looking pretty under there.
The rear suspension members all used to look like that but now they look much better.
Bodywork needs attention. Wheel arches are the biggest problem.
Here are some badges and stuff.
This one's not a classic so not relevant ... sorry, I love my V6 GT!
